Last weeks #TipsyTuesday selection was mighty good. I'm pretty sure I lived off of Moscow Mules over the weekend. I mean, we ran out of vodka. We didn't realize it until after the 9 o'clock hour and of course the liquor store was closed. Luckily we had a bottle of bourbon in the kitchen and that's what inspired this weeks selections.
When your at home stock gets low here are a few cocktails that taste just as great as the original with a few substitutions. The Kentucky Mule, Manhattan, and Negroni all have substations worth making permanent.
2.5 oz. Bourbon
5 oz. Ginger Beer
.5 oz. Lime Juice
Add bourbon and lime juice to a Moscow Mule mug or a highball glass.
Fill your glass with ice and top with ginger beer.
Garnish with a lime wedge.
A Manhattan is a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. Commonly used whiskeys include Rye, Canadian whiskey, Bourbon, blended whiskey, and Tennessee whiskey.
2 oz. Unaged Whiskey (white)
3/4 oz. Dolin Blanc Vermouth
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass.
Fill with ice.
Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
The Negroni cocktail is made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel.
1 oz. Jamaican Rum
1 oz. Aperol
1 oz. Sweet Red Vermouth
Stir all ingredients into a glass.
Serve over ice and garnish.
